I feel electric!… electricity cables need to be fitted, used water conducts, heating pipes and whatnot…

And then the contractor calls… “If you want your heating elements only 35cm high then they are going to be 1.80m(!) long…”. Mh, now that didn’t really sound like an option. Probably a little (that is, very) ugly to have the heating stick out from the sides of the window, especially since this would only be to one side since the other side is usually blocked by a wall/metal structure…

Then came the question, “can we make them 50cm high?”…. My reply was of course “dunno…would have to check…measure….draw on the wall to get an image in my head if that would be nice….”. So the contractors did something genius ???? they made us a little sample heating element out of wall left-overs, they put the correct floor height underneath so we could a better image!

FYI, in the end we did decide to go for 50cm high. This now means that the heating element fits snugly just underneath the big window (yay!)

En dan belt onze aannemer…”als de chauffage maar  35cm hoog mag zijn dan zullen ze 1.80m(!) lang moeten zijn…” Mh, dat leek ons nu niet echt een geweldig idee. Zeker gezien de chauffage dan onder de ramen uit zou steken… en geen klein beetje, maar alleen maar langs één kant gezien de andere kant meestal geblokkeerd is door muur/metalen balk.

En toen kwam de vraag “mag dat dan geen 50 cm hoog zijn?”… Mijn antwoord was natuurlijk “euhm…kweenie…zou’k es moeten nakijken…opmeten..tekenen op de muur zodat ik een beeld kan vormen hoe hoog 50cm is…”. Dus wat hebben onze aannemers gedaan? Een nep-chauffage gemaakt! Uit overschotjes fermacell plaat hadden ze de vorm van de chauffage gemaakt, met de vloer op de juiste hooogte gelegd zodat het beeld compleet was!

Ter info, uiteindelijk is het dus wel de chauffage van 50 hoog geworden, die past net onder de grote ramen (woehoe!)
